Google opens Android music store to take on iTunes

Google has launched a new music store for US-based Android customers, taking on Apple’s market-leading iTunes with competitively priced songs and exclusive content. From yesterday (November 16), Android handset users in North America got access to Google Music, the service that was launched in beta by the search engine giant in May. Apple in talks to buy Israeli flash storage start-up Anobit

Apple is reportedly in talks to acquire Israel’s Anobit, a maker of flash storage technology, for as much as $500 million (£321m). According to the Calcalist financial daily, Apple is in advanced negotiations to purchase Anobit, which has created a chip that enhances flash drive performance. The chip is already incorporated into various Apple devices, including the iPhone, iPad and the MacBook Air. It is thought that the deal will be worth between $400m and $500m.
